Little Fish...Big Wish!

Hello!
Happy Monday!

Patti J. here with my first Repeat Impressions Project of the Week!

My project this week is a fun little slider card!
So...grab that cup of coffee or tea, and join me for a fun tutorial!

Warning: Photo heavy :)

The stamps I'm using for this project are all Repeat Impressions Stamps:

Cut a piece of cardstock that measures 4.25" x 11".  Score in half at 5.5".  Set aside.

Cut another piece of cardstock to 4" x 5.25".  Find two graduated circle dies, and line them up together as shown.

This is what you will have after die cutting your circles.

Using inks and stamps of your choice, decorate the outside piece as desired.

Flip over, and add dimensional foam.  I use lots - many folks use much less! Your choice :)

Again, using stamps and inks of your choice, decorate the smaller circle. Flip it over and add foam pieces, as shown in the next photo.

Remove the paper from foam pieces, and adhere larger piece to card front. Be sure to place on card front in the right position, and no...don't ask me how I know that!  lol...
Stamp image of choice, color, and fussy cut, as shown below...

Take a button, penny, dime, whatever works best, and add a couple of foam pieces to one side only.

Lay your button or coin with the sticky side up, inside the large circle, toward the left edge.  Adhere the smaller circle in the center of the larger circle.  Place your 'spinning' image on top of the dimensional foam pieces.

Voila!  You have a fish that will spin all the way around your circle.  Mine will even swim upside down!

I know that you all have lots of great ideas for this technique!
When it's my turn again, we may do a side to side slider!
I hope that you'll give this technique a try, and if you do...
be sure to come back to the Repeat Impressions Blog, and
leave your blog link in a comment!
That way, we can all check out your fun creations!

Happy Stamping,
Patti J.

On October 2nd, it will be SIX years since I posted my first papercrafting project!

I'm sure that I learned this fun fold from my friend (and then, teacher) Shirley!
This was actually my first published card as well...
Lol...not only has my cardmaking improved, but so has my photography!

You, my faithful friends, have been with me through good days and bad,
through weeks of many posts and weeks of none............
So!  I'm planning six days of Blogaversary celebrations!

Stay tuned for Day 1 - October 3rd - there will be candy!
Check back often, as there will be 5 more days of Blogaversary candy in October!

So Grateful...

Yippee Skippy, it's Saturday!

Good golly, Miss Molly, it's been fun having some crafty time this week!
Today, I'm sharing a card that I made for the Mod Squad Challenge - 'Any Holiday'.
Fall is my favorite season to create for, so I decided it has to be a
Thankful card.

I used two Gina K. Designs sets: 'Autumn Beauty', and 'So Grateful'.
Both are older sets, and might even be retired, but both have been inked
and inked and inked over the years, so what's one more inking!

I first stamped the pumpkins.  They were masked, and the mailbox and flowers were
then stamped.  All coloring is with Copics, and the papers are from some
old scraps in my stash.

I'm also entering this card here:
Hiding in my Craft Room - create for any holiday

Hope it gives you some fall smiles!

Thanks for stopping by!

Faith...

Howdy, folks!
Is it really Friday already?

I've actually had a bit of time this week to create for a challenge or two!
Love it when that happens!

Today's card was created in a matter of minutes. Don't you just
get all excited when a free digi sentiment, and some wonderful patterned
paper does all of the hard work for you?  I found this Kraft-type paper
pad last week at Hobby Lobby, and it's great for cards like this one!

I love this 'faithful" scripture!  This card will be entered into
the Word Art Wednesday challenge - anything goes.
If you are interested, you can grab the sentiment there - each week,
a new verse is provided.  You can create with it, or with any
'uplifting' type of sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend!

Age and Wine...

Hello, and Happy Thursday!

I had a bit of time to play yesterday, and had purchased, but not yet used, this fun digi image from "From the Heart Stamps".  We have two friends that really enjoy visiting wineries,
and since it's not really our thing, we have a lot of fun razzing them about it.

This digi is called Birdbrain Wine.  It's colored with Copic Markers,
and I used up some patterned papers from my scrap piles.

I'm going to enter this in the "From the Heart Stamps" Challenge,
which is a sketch challenge...with a twist.  The twist is that you can either
follow this sketch...

or used a handmade embellishment, OR you can do both!
My handmade embellies are the wee butterflies that I've punched and drawn on.

Thanks for stopping by!

AR's Christmas in September Blog Hop

Welcome to the Creation by AR, Christmas in September Blog Hop!
Adela has been busy creating some beautiful templates!
We have three new releases to showcase today!

As always, with an AR hop, there's something to give away!
This month, there will be THREE random commenters chosen from the designers' blogs,
and from the AR FB page.  How can you win?
Leave comments on each designers' blog and/or the AR FB page.  The more comments you leave, the better chance of being chosen.  Comments will be accepted until Friday, September 12th, at 12:00 noon Eastern time.  Random winners will be announced September 13th on the AR FB Page, and on the AR Website.  Good luck!!!

Let's get started!

First up is the Gingerbread Gift Bag.  Is this cute, or what?
The possibilities are endless for filling this amazing bag!

Leave it to me to take a squirrely photo!  The wreath is not wonky - it's perfect!  The photograper has captured the back side of the house!  (It's two sided paper...lol)

Next, we have the Starry Tree.  Oh my goodness, this is delightful!
Each of these little trees lift up, and each tree 'base' can be filled with something fun.
I've filled mine with holiday candies.

Last, but certainly not least, is the new Stack a Snowman.
What fun!  Get out those pretty patterned holiday papers, and create some fun
snowman stacks for friends, family, and co-workers!
Again, each of the 'bases' holds something fun.
Completed Stack

This shot shows the hat off, and the little treat container!

This shows the lid off the pink box.  Just realized I left off a glue dot on the pink lid!  OOPS!

This shows the bottom two sections with lids off.

Yummy, right?

You can purchase each template individually, or....
You can purchase the 2014 Winter Bundle, which contains all three!

Thank you for stopping by today!
It's time to hop along to see what my talented teammates have created!

Wedding Place Cards

Hello!
Happy Saturday to all...

I've been working on some wedding things for our son's wedding, and
thought I'd share just a bit of the creations.
Like a goofball, I shipped the entire box of pretties,
and did not photograph anything else!
More pics will come in a few weeks - I promise!

Sorry, had to crop off the bottom for privacy of the wedding guest.  Each place card was hand embossed with a Spellbinder die, one by one.  The bride and groom's are a bit larger, as they will be at a table by themselves.

This photo shows the menu's.  Mmmm....so looking forward to wedding DINNER!!!

And, here are the table numbers.  These will stand on the table in a silver card holder. Sorry about the white background!

We are so excited for these two!  Can't wait to see them speak their vows.
They are getting married at Bass Lake, near Yellowstone, and it should be beautiful
this time of year!

There were also programs, and a few other things - hopefully, I'll have photos soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Smiles

Hello!
I'm here with my first post as a 'repeat' Repeat Impressions DT member!
I stepped down from the team a year or so ago, and have missed Wendy and my DT friends.
When Wendy asked me recently to come back for a term, I was excited to do so.

SO....here is my card, using the Repeat Impressions Sketch #S314!

I've used the sweet 'Moon Angel' #716-G, 'Thinking of You' #1105-E, and 'Sending Smiles' #9106-G

And, here is Wendy's great sketch!

Be sure to give this sketch a try!  Enter your project in the sketch challenge, at the the RI Blog, The House That Stamps Built, for a chance to win some great RI stamps!

Other supplies used, were some Colorbok cardstock, some bling from my stash, Copic Markers, and, of course, my Perfect Papercrafting Mini Rulers for the beautiful borders!  See my sidebar for details.

Pretty Wings...

Happy Tuesday, and Happy September!
Can you believe that August is gone?

It's my day to post for Die-Versions, and I've chosen to once again showcase this beautiful die.
I love the delicate lines, and couldn't resist embellishing the body with a few pearls.
It's such an elegant die, that it needs an elegant embellishment, right?

Die-Versions "Pretty Wings" Whispers DVW-383

The butterfly is die cut from the same patterned paper as the border - doesn't it
look pretty, and vintage?

Hope your week is off to a great start!
Thanks for stopping by today.  We hope that you'll follow the Die-Versions Blog
for lots of daily inspiration from the talented design team.  Shopping at the
Die-Versions store is great fun, as well!

I'll leave you with a question...what is one word that you'd like to see in a die?
Something new, that's not been thought of yet?
Can't wait to hear your words!!!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

A Unique Blog Hop

Good morning!
Happy Monday.  Happy September (yikes!). Happy Labor Day!

Today's post is a bit different.  I was recently asked to join in 'A Unique Blog Hop', by my uber-talented friend, Shirley Hotop.  I thought it sounded like fun - I get to share a bit about me, and introduce you to a few creative friends (keep reading)!

1. What am I working on?
I'm not sure where to even begin!  I just finished a set of Baby Shower favors that you can see here. As soon as the sea of PINK left for the shower, I began working on place cards, menus, programs, and much more, for our son's upcoming wedding.  I neglected to take photos of all the wedding items, so be sure to check back later in the month if you'd like to take a peek!  Here is a photo of a 'Card Box' that we made them.

The lumber is from a barn that's been in my husband's family since 1958. The barn wood actually dates back to the 1800's, so it's quite a sentimental piece of wood.  DH and I designed it, a friend of ours built it, and I wrapped it in miles of burlap - thanks to my friend,, Cheryl Gammon - she is a 'rolled rose' expert, and so very generous!  Not only did she share actual finished products, but she shared her 'rosy' secrets! I'm learning!  Other than that, I worked fast and furious to get some DT project finished this past month.

2. My Style? What inspires me?
I'm not sure I have a 'style'.  While I am drawn to images that I can color, I also enjoy working with silhouettes, and one color stamping.  I absolutely LOVE trying out a new technique! On any given day, you might find cut, elegant, CAS, or multiple layers. I like both stamps and digi images. My inspiration comes from many sources - I love a good sketch!  What a great starting point for a card.  Pinterest is inspiration heaven, and I can spend endless hours there. I am always surprised, how I can choose something that inspires me, and set out to CASE it, but my projects look totally different!
Other bloggers are another place I go for inspiration. The ideas, techniques, and styles are endless!  I've been known to purchase something while shopping, simply because the packaging inspires me!

3. Where did it all start?
In 2001, I took a workshop locally, from a very nice lady, who was a TAC Angel, and had OODLES of fun supplies, inks, and ideas.  A few months later, I had a nice box of my own supplies. It seemed that I'd barely blinked, and I suddenly went from a plastic tub, to a desk, to an entire crafty area! Not only was a wonderful hobby born, but a wonderful friendship, as well. You see, my workshop instructor was my friend, Shirley!  13 years later, we are besties, and continually teach each other new things!

4. How does your creative process work?
Yikes!  Am I supposed to have a creative process? Seriously?
Hmmmm......
First, I find some great music to creat by. Sometimes it's a rocking choice, with a fun and fast beat, other times I enjoy Christian contemporary, and sometimes I like soft instrumental - depends on what mood I wake up in!  Then....I choose a purpose.  What do I need a card for?  Then I check my DT calendars to see if I can 'kill two birds with one stone'.  If I need a thinking of you card, and one of my DT projects calls for certain stamps/colors/sketch, that's my jump-off point.  I'm a Chemo Card Angel, so you will see a lot of generic card sentiments on my posts. Things like, hello, thinking of you, have a good day, etc.  I guess I really don't have a creative process.  At my age, I can sit down to create, see a squirrel in the yard, and become so distracted that I don't create at all...tee hee!

Are you snoring yet?

I'd love for you to drop by and leave Shirley a bit of love.

Now, as part of this Unique Blog Hop, I'd like to introduce you to two fellow stampers that I've asked to join in on this fun-ness!

Cheri Weston is one of the sweetest, and most talented ladies you will ever run across in this blogland that we live in!  Her blog is always a fun and inspirational place to visit.  She will be posting her Unique Post on Monday, September 15th - be sure to check it out!

Regina Cooper is another oh, so talented (and super sweet) blogging friend!  When Regina was living in St. Louis, we actually got to meet and create together!  Due to family commitments, Regina can't post until Monday, September 21st.  Please be sure to drop by her blog and leave some hugs!

I want to thank Shirley for thinking of me, and including me in this hop!

Thanks for dropping by today,
Patti J.
